Write a blog post/Set your strategy
Step 2 of 5
Set your strategy
Choose your funnel stage, writing mode, and reader transformation.
Step 2 is where you tell Thomas how to approach your topic. You're making three key decisions here.

Funnel stage
Where is your reader in their journey?
- Awareness — they're just discovering the topic. Write to educate and intrigue.
- Consideration — they know the topic and are exploring options. Write to compare and advise.
- Conversion — they're ready to act. Write to persuade and guide.
- Retention — they're already a customer. Write to deepen the relationship.
Writing mode
How should Thomas address the reader?
Choose from modes like Educational, Inspirational, Problem-solving, or Entertaining. Not all modes work with all funnel stages — Thomas will let you know if a combination doesn't quite fit.
Reader transformation
This is the shift you want to create in your reader's mind. Thomas suggests transformations based on your topic and funnel stage — you'll see them appear as suggestion chips.

For example: "From overwhelmed to confident" or "From curious to ready to start."
You can pick a suggestion, edit it, or write your own. A small badge shows whether each field was suggested by Thomas, edited by you, or written from scratch.
Voice and model
Finally, choose which voice Thomas should write in (your personal voice, or a preset) and which model to use for generation.
If you've already set up your personal voice, it'll be selected by default. You only need to change this if you want a different tone for a specific article.
