Write a blog post/Choose your topic

Step 1 of 5

Choose your topic

Pick a topic for your article and give Thomas something to work with.

There are two ways to start a new article:

  • Click Quick Create in the sidebar and select Article
  • Or click New article from your Library

Either way, you'll land on the Article Builder's first step: choosing your topic.

Start with a topic or idea — it doesn't need to be a polished headline

Type in your topic. This can be as rough or as refined as you like:

  • A broad theme: "financial literacy for kids"
  • A specific angle: "5 ways to teach children about saving"
  • A question your audience asks: "When should I start talking to my child about money?"

Thomas uses this as a starting point. You'll refine the direction in the next step, so don't worry about getting the wording perfect.

If you've set up topic clusters in your Library, you can also pick a topic from there. This keeps your content aligned with your overall content strategy.

Once you've entered your topic, click Continue to move on to strategy.
