Choose a starting voice
Pick a built-in voice preset as your starting point.
Head to Voice & Style in the sidebar. At the top of the page, you'll see a row of voice pills — these are your starting points.
Thomas comes with five built-in voice presets:
- Thomas — warm, approachable, and gently authoritative
- Elizabeth — polished and professional with quiet confidence
- Jack — energetic and direct, gets to the point
- Sarah — conversational and encouraging, like a trusted friend
- Alexis — creative and expressive, with a distinctive flair
Click on any preset to select it. The preview pane on the right will immediately show you a sample of how Thomas writes in that voice.
Don't overthink this choice. You're picking a starting point, not a final answer. In the next step, you'll fine-tune the tone with sliders, and you can always switch presets later.
If you've already created custom voices, they'll appear here too, along with a + button to create a new one from scratch.
Once you've picked a starting voice, move on to adjusting the tone.
