Credits and usage
Understand how credits work and track your usage.
Every time Thomas generates content, it uses credits from your account. Here's how the credit system works.
How credits are used
- Single article — each article generation uses credits based on the article length and number of quality stages
- One-Shot Month — a full month plan uses credits for each article generated
- Voice analysis — analysing your writing samples uses a small amount of credits
- Voice preview — the live preview when adjusting tone sliders uses minimal credits
Checking your balance
Your remaining credits are shown on the Dashboard in the credits panel. You can also check detailed usage in the Admin > Usage section (if you're an admin).
If you run out of credits mid-generation, Thomas will let you know with a clear message. No content is lost — you can continue once your credits are topped up.
What counts as a credit
Credits are measured in tokens — the units that language models use to process text. Writing a 1,000-word article typically uses around 4,000-6,000 tokens across all generation stages (planning, drafting, smoothing, and quality checks).
